Project Title: Data fusion for operational optimisation and facility management
Objectives: The ESR will decompose the facilities management domain into a series of stakeholders, business processes, data definitions and exchange requirements with the ultimate objective of representing this information in a standardised reusable format by using the Information Delivery Manual (IDM) methodology. Development of which will include process related inputs from ESRs 8&9. The overarching objective is to deliver a rule-based facilities management Model View Definition (MVD) for the IFC data model (ISO standard 16739) and in doing so, defining any necessary extensions to the IFC data model.
Expected Results: The ESR’s expected results include the following: 1) objective domain reviews of facilities management and Model View Definitions (MVDs); 2) characterisation of the facilities management domain in line with standardized BIM conventions, detailing omissions or shortcomings with the latest version of the IFC data model, and 3) development of a facilities management MVD for use by the industry at large, particularly through BIM-based CAD software and quality checking tools
