The Eastman Symposium to honor Professor Chuck Eastman will be held on Thursday, May 13 2021 – Link for registration is available!

Colleagues from around the world have organized the symposium to honor Professor Chuck Eastman and celebrate his life and legacy.  The Eastman Symposium will be held on Thursday, May 13, 2021, starting at 13:00 GMT (8:00 a.m. US EST) and will run uninterrupted for 24 hours. In keeping with the global impact of Professor Eastman’s work, the individual sessions will be chaired by experts from around the world.

The symposium will be anchored by two real-time networking sessions, where Chuck’s friends and family will gather.  The symposium will include two keynote lectures from Eastman’s closest colleagues and 14 academic paper sessions focused on research topics initiated and championed by Chuck over his 55-year research career.

The 14 academic sessions represent the arc of Professor Eastman’s career, from his early work in design cognition, through work in computer graphics, solid modeling, building product models, rule checking and BIM. The chairs are leaders in these fields, selected from experts and colleagues of Chuck’s from around the world.
